You can see here that we clearly should have done Greece and Italy AFTER Germany and France. I wonder how much longer it will last... the pour weather has been in the news almost every day here, and shopkeepers and touristy places aren't making nearly as much money this summer. It will probably also have an effect on this seasons's produce and wine. It feels like Vancouver in October.
Anyway, last weekend I ditched Eric & Amber to meet Sanaee and her mom in Loue, a little village near Le Mans back in France. I stayed in their little castle, complete with two towers and a huge garden, surrounded by walls, but alas, no moat. We had all sorts of tasty foods (including Rillettes, a fantastic combination of fat and sausage) and wandered around the little villages around Loue on Saturday while it was mostly sunny. We even went to a famous Abby to hear Gregorian Chanting!

The illustration makes the post. How did you draw it?
Well, I went to the nearest amusement park (probably called Parc d'Amusement) and took a rocket ride as high as I could. Then I took a picture looking back down over Europe. Unfortunately, being a Hepler, I got motion sick and managed to puke just before taking the picture. Although the blotchy parts covering Europe look like clouds, they are in fact part baguette, and part Camembert with a generous dose of Kronenbourg 1664 and stomach acid.
A thought has crossed my mind. You are going to be in Mongolia soon. If while you're there, you have net access, please click on my wordpress blog (there's a link to it on my blogspot blog). I want this entirely because I think it will be cool to have a Mongolian red dot on my little map of where people who click on my blog come from.
Dan....I'm dying from the heat here in Croatia (soon to be in Bosnia). Maybe we should have switched destinations. Here, you transport yourself over here, and I'll go there, how bout?
